Rabbi is asked whether Jewish sexual ethics are outdated? His response will surprise you!
Rabbi Eliezer Zobin here explains why sexual ethics prescribed by Judaism are still important ways in which to maximise the dignity of people in relationships. When discussing how people are often taken advantage of sexually he says (minute 1:44) that Jewish sexual ethics are supposed to ensure that you’re “not seeing somebody as a means to an end, but valuing the person as an end to themselves.” He feels that unrestricted sexuality can often lead to the instrumentalisation and objectification of people.
