Ollie Anisfeld tells a tale of a group of Jews in a Nazi concentration camp during the Holocaust who were forced to sing and dance by some SS Officers in the midst of their horror, merely as a means of mental torture. The song they begun to sing included the words (minute 2:27) “While they could attempt to annihilate the Jewish body, the Jewish soul could not be defeated.”” The song slowly transformed from a form of torture to something the Jews were enjoying. The words begun to sink in as they realised that no matter how hard the Nazis tried, they could never destroy the Jewish spirit. Upon seeing this, the Nazis realised that they would never succeed in destroying the soul of the Jewish people.
