During the Holocaust, many parents had to give up their children to be rescued by heroic non-Jews to prevent their extermination. This was a tragic reality for thousands of Jewish mothers and fathers. In this video, a mother writes to her daughter Mirele, explaining to her why she had to give her up. She writes (minute 2:16) “Your must know why you are alone, without parents. Not because they didn’t love you… but because they did!” We must remember and pay tribute to the heartbreak and torture suffered by so many Jews during the Holocaust.
