Rabbi Dr Akiva Tatz in this video speaks about the emotion of anger and how with all other character traits, whether positive or negative, one should find a reasonable average and try to be balanced, (minute 1:20) ‘anger is the exception. Anger is a problem of the character which needs to be overcome completely. There is no place for anger at all.’ He then goes on to explain the difference between righteous indignation and the destructive egotistical force Judaism refers to as anger and why this is forbidden at all times and there is absolutely no place for it in the character of a refined person.
