A modern plague that both destroys relationships and wastes special times, Rabbi Farhi explains its essential addictive nature. This “dirty little secret” (2:55), based on the biblical idea that “it is not good for man to be alone” (Genesis 2:18), taps into humanity’s communicative purpose. However, as Rabbi Farhi explains, social media is becoming counter-productive to this aim, causing us to disconnect from our natural surroundings.
